After eight generations of passionate cultivation, Bérêche & fils is proud to release the first collection of its Côte de Blancs wines. The breadth and complexity of our soils – and the particular style of each winemaker – allow us to produce seven unique cuvees, all made from Chardonnay and with a distinctive soul. We are proud to present a living portrait of our terroir in this collection, which we like to call the “Memoires” or the “Memory” of Rue de la Croix Montjoie.The inaugural release is composed of: Blanc de Blancs ‘Les Beguines’, Blanc de Noirs “Extrait de Parfum” Extra Brut, Blanc de Noirs “Brut Nature” Extra Brut, Esprit d’Antan, Les Poètes Rosé, Le Parc, Les Moires Millésimes 2014 et 2016.

When Jacob and Raphael Bérêche founded their Champagne house in 1847, they made it a point of honour to collect the most beautiful terroirs individually and vinify them separately. People talk about our wines as a collection because they are the fruit of many years of waiting. By referring to it as a collection we can give importance to the diversity of the wines. These cuvées are sometimes produced in very small quantities and often do not stay in our range for that long! For example, a number of them have never been produced twice because they were special bottles.
The wines are French, from the Champagne region. They are made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, yet they continue to break the norms of traditional Champagne. To highlight the original characteristics of each variety – and the terroir in which it’s grown – our method uses 100% whole-bunch pressing, a high percentage of ‘old vines’, and extended lees-ageing. The resultant wines have been described as “exciting”, “creative”, “discreetly exotic, intensely flavoursome but never overpowering”.
